Ağırlık Yönetiminde Yaklaşımlar ve Beslenme Bilgi Düzeyi ile İlişkisi

Abstract

Günümüzde şişmanlık hem gelişmiş hem de gelişmekte olan ülkelerde yüksek prevalans göstermekle birlikte, tüm dünyada ölüm nedenleri arasında beşinci sırada yer almaktadır. Birçok kronik hastalık ile ilişkilendirilmiş olan şişmanlığın tedavisinde yüksek miktarda sağlık harcamaları yapılmasından dolayı yerel yönetimler, şişmanlığın önlenmesi adına devlet politikaları geliştirmekte ve uygulamaktadırlar. Şişmanlığın tedavisinde beslenme ile ilişkili pek çok farklı yöntem olduğu bilimsel çalışmalarda gösterilmiştir. Şişmanlığın önlenmesinde en önemli adımlar olan bireylerin sağlıklı besin seçimleri yapabilme ve beslenme ile ilişkili bilgileri yaşam tarzına dönüştürebilmeleri, bireylerin beslenme bilgi düzeyleri ve beslenme eğitimleri ile ilişkili olmaktadır. Bu derlemede şişmanlığın tedavisinde kullanılan diyetsel yaklaşımlar ile beslenme eğitimi ve beslenme bilgi düzeyinin beslenme durumu, vücut kompozisyonu ve şişmanlık gibi farklı parametreler arasındaki ilişki ele alınmıştır.
