Emzirme Döneminde Tamamlayıcı Alternatif Tedavi Kullanımı

Abstract

Emzirme dönemi anne ve bebek açısından oldukça önemlidir. Anne ve bebek sağlığını koruma, geliştirme aynı zamanda anne bebek etkileşimini sağlamada rol oynamaktadır. Emzirme dönemine hazırlanma süreci gebelikte salgılanan hormonların etkisiyle gerçekleşmektedir. Doğumla birlikte aktifleşen süt üretimi ile emzirme dönemi başlamış olur. Emzirme döneminde annelerin karşılaştığı pek çok durum birtakım problemlerin ortaya çıkmasına neden olabilir. Özellikle meme ve emzirmeye yönelik yaşanan problemler anne ve bebek sağlığını olumsuz etkileyebilir. Anneler bu dönemde ortaya çıkan problemlerin giderilmesinde ilaç kullanımı konusunda birtakım endişeler yaşamaktadır. Özellikle ilaçların anne sütünden bebeğe geçebileceği ve zarar verebileceği yönünde yaşanan kaygı fazla olmaktadır. Bunun sonucunda anneler sorunlarının çözümü için tamamlayıcı alternatif tedavi (TAT) yöntemlerine başvurmayı tercih edebilirler. Müzik terapi, gevşeme egzersizleri, masaj terapisi, refleksoloji, sıcak uygulama, akupunktur, hipnoz, aromaterapi ve fitoterapi emzirme döneminde kullanılan bazı yöntemlerdir. Emzirmenin desteklenmesi, anne sütünün artması, yaşanan sorunların giderilmesinde etkili olabilir. Ancak TAT yöntemlerinin kullanım sıklığındaki artışa rağmen kullanımı ve güvenliği ile ilgili veriler yeterli değildir. Kullanılan TAT yöntemlerinin doğru bir şekilde belirlenmesi, faydalı olabilmesi ve bilinçli kullanımın sağlanabilmesi için ebe ve hemşirelerin en güncel bilgiye sahip olması ve kanıta dayalı bilgiler sunabilmesi gerekmektedir. Gebelik döneminde ve emzirme döneminde tamamlayıcı alternatif tedavi yöntemlerinin danışmanlık ve eğitim içeriğinde sunulması; anne-bebek sağlığının sürdürülmesi, geliştirilmesi ve etkin emzirmenin devamlılığı açısından oldukça önemlidir.
