SİGARA DUMANINDAKİ RADYASYON VE İNSAN SAĞLIĞINA ETKİLERİ

Abstract




Tütün bitkisinde ve
sigara dumanında bağımlılık yapan, insanın ruh ve beden sağlığını bozan çok
sayıda zararlı madde bulunmaktadır. Bu maddelerden bazıları da, belli bir dozun
üzerine çıkıldığında, insan sağlığı açısından son derece zararlı olan Radon-222
ve Polonyum-210 gibi radyoaktif elementlerdir.



Sigara dumanındaki radyasyon ile ilgili yapılan bilimsel çalışmalardan
elde edilen verilere göre, Günde 1,5 sigara paketi ile alınan yıllık radyasyon
miktarı (8000 mrem), yaklaşık olarak 300 adet göğüs-röntgen filmi ile alınan
radyasyon miktarı kadardır. Bu nedenle, İnsanoğlu için, sigara dumanındaki
radyasyon nükleer santrallerden çok daha büyük riskler taşımaktadır. Sonuç
olarak, tütün ve sigara dumanının zararları ile ilgili alınacak önlemler
kapsamında, sigara paketlerinin üzerine “Sigara Dumanı En Önemli Radyasyon
Kaynaklarından Bir Tanesidir” ifadesinin yazılmasının daha etkili sonuçları
olabilir.
