Stalking: Obsessional Following Behavior Typologies

Öz

Stalking, or, in other words, obsessional following, descri- bes when one person engages in persistent, disturbing, and fear-anxious behavior towards another person. Definitions may vary from country to country and from state to state; they can also differ in legal and clinical fields. Obsessional following, like any complex human behavior, can occur as a result of various mental states. Stalking negatively affects the qua- lity of life by creating uneasiness in the victim and creating security con- cerns. In stalking, not only the intentions and behaviors of the stalker are important, but also how the actions are experienced and expressed by the victim. The entanglement in these matters also complicates the creation of a useful stalking classification. In this study, stalking typologies in the literature will be discussed under three main headings. These titles are stal- king typologies related to psychiatric diagnoses, stalking typologies and victim relationships, and typologies for the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP). The themes such as the types of obsessional followers, the relationship between the victim and the stalker, and the motivation of the stalker in these three titles will be explained with some historical cases.

Stalklama: Israrlı Takip Davranış Tipolojileri

Öz

Stalklama diğer bir deyişle ısrarlı takip, bir kişinin diğer bir kişiye karşı ısrarlı, rahatsız edici ve korku-endişe uyandırıcı davranışlarda bulun- masını tarif eder. Tanımlamalar ülkeden ülkeye, eyaletten eyalete değişe- bildiği gibi; hukuksal ve klinik alanlarda da farklılaşabilmektedir. Israrlı takip herhangi bir karmaşık insan davranışı gibi, çeşitli zihinsel durumların bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Stalklama, mağdur kişide hu- zursuzluk yaratması ve güvenlik endişesi oluşturmasıyla yaşam kalitesini olumsuz etkilemektedir. Stalklamada, sadece ısrarlı takipçinin niyetleri ve davranışları değil, aynı zamanda eylemlerin mağdur tarafından nasıl dene- yimlendiği ve ifade edildiği de önemlidir. Bu hususlardaki karmaşıklıklar, faydalı bir ısrarlı takip sınıflandırmasının oluşturulmasını da zorlaştırmak- tadır. Bu çalışmada, literatürde yer alan ısrarlı takip tipolojileri üç ana baş- lık altında ele alınacaktır. Bu başlıklar psikiyatrik teşhislere bağlı stalklama tipolojisi, stalklama tipolojileri ve mağdur ilişkisi ile Psikiyatride İlerleme Grubu (PİG) açısından tipolojilerdir. Bu üç başlıkta yer alan ısrarlı takipçi türleri, mağdur ile saldırgan arasındaki ilişki biçimleri ve takipçinin mo- tivasyonu gibi temalar tarihe geçmiş bazı örnek vakalarla açıklanacaktır.
