Effects of Mental Fatigue on Psychophysiological Responses and Cognitive Performance during Soccer Small-Sided Games: A Systematic Review

Öz

The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the effect of mental fatigue (MF) intervention on psychophysiological responses and cognitive performances during soccer small-sided games. The journal databases PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and SPORTDiscus were electronically screened for papers published from 1 January 2010 to 31 January 2021. The following keywords were used in various combinations with small-sided games: “mental fatigue”, “cognitive fatigue” according to the PICO criteria (population, intervention, comparison, and outcome). The databases search initially yielded 20 studies. From those, 5 articles were eligible for the systematic review. According to these studies, results have shown the adverse effects of MF on the psychophysiological responses and inducing cognitive performances. This systematic review has confirmed that mental fatigue intervention affects negatively small-sided games performances in soccer.

FUTBOLDA DAR ALAN OYUNLARINDA ZİHİNSEL YORGUNLUĞUN PSİKOFİZYOLOJİK CEVAPLARA VE BİLİŞSEL PERFORMANSA ETKİLERİ: SİSTEMATİK DERLEME

Öz

Öz: Bu sistematik derlemenin amacı, futbolda dar alan oyunlarında (DAO) uygulanan zihinsel yorgunluk (ZY) uygulamalarının psikofizyolojik cevaplara ve bilişsel performansa etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma, 1 Ocak 2010 ile 01 Ocak 2022 tarihleri arasında Pubmed, Scopus, Web of Science (WOS) ve Sport Discuss veri tabanlarında futbolda dar alan, psikofizyolojik ve bilişsel performans içeriğinde “zihinsel yorgunluk ve futbolda dar alan”, ve “bilişsel yorgunluk ve futbolda dar alan” anahtar kelimelerini kullanarak PICO kriterlerine ait (popülasyon, uygulama, karşılaştırma ve sonuçlar) soruları cevaplayabilmek için bir literatür derleme çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri tabanları incelemesi sonucu yirmi iki (22) makale bulunmuştur. İnceleme sonrasında yedi (7) makale sistematik derlemede kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarında, zihinsel yorgunluk uygulamalarının kalp atım hızı (KAH), dikey sıçrama (DS), algılanan zorluk derecesi (AZD), görsel analog skala (GAS), görsel analog skala- anksiyete (GAS-A), his, uyarılmışlık, motivasyon, keyif, yorgunluk ve dinçlik gibi psikofizyolojik cevapları negatif etkilediği ve zihinsel çaba (ZÇ), çevresel algı (ÇA), iz sürme testi (İST) gibi bilişsel performansta bozulmalara yol açtığı görülmüştür. Bu sistematik derleme çalışmanın sonucuna göre, zihinsel yorgunluk uygulamaları futbolda dar alan performansını olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir.
