Bu çalışmada, okulöncesi okullarında staj uygulamalarına devam eden çocuk gelişimi bölümü 2. Sınıf öğrencilerini “müdür” kavramına ilişkin sahip oldukları algıları metaforlar yoluyla irdelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç çerçevesinde 2013-2014 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Siirt Üniversitesi Meslek Yüksekokulu Çocuk Gelişimi bölümü 2. Sınıflarında okuyan ve staj uygulamalarına katılan öğrencilerden 80 öğrenciye “Okul Müdürü…………………gibidir. Çünkü ………………….” Cümlelerini tamamlamaları istenmiştir. Nitel olarak gerçekleştirilen bu araştırma “olgu bilim” modeline göre yapılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin nitel analizinden, çocuk gelişimi bölümü öğrencilerinin “müdür” kavramına ilişkin 46 farklı metafor oluşturdukları tespit edilmiştir. Üretilen metaforlar kategorik olarak 13 başlık altında sınıflandırılmıştır. En fazla metafor üretilen kategoriler sırasıyla “olumsuzluk unsuru olma” ve “etkisiz bir unsur olma” kategorileri iken en az metafor üretilen kategoriler “yönlendirici/Yol gösterici olma” ve “Mekanik bir varlık olma” kategorileri olarak tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre staj uygulamalarına giden çocuk gelişimi bölümü öğrencilerinin genel olarak olumsuz bir müdür algısına sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir.
In this study, perceptions of the students at 2nd grade department of child development who did internship in preschools about the concept of “principal” were tried to be examined via metaphors. Within the framework of this objective, of the students who were at the 2nd class of Siirt University Vocational School Child Development department and did internship in the spring semester of 2013-2014 academic year, 80 students were asked to complete the sentence “Principal is like …………………., because …………”. Carried out as a qualitative research, this study was done according to “phenomenologic” model. On the basis of the qualitative analysis of the data obtained, it was determined that students at the child development department created 46 different metaphors in relation to the concept of “principal”. The created metaphors were categorically classified under 13 headings. While the categories with the maximum metaphors were respectively as “beingthe element of negativity” and “being an ineffective element”, the categories with the fewest metaphors were identified as “being a guide/ advisor” and “ a mechanicalbeing”. According to the research results, it was determined that the students at the child development department who did internship generally had a negative perception of “principal”.
