Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Artvin Çoruh University Journal of Engineering and Natural Sciences (ACUJES) is a scientific research journal established in 2023. Our journal is a national, peer-reviewed, and indexed publication in the field of engineering sciences and design, released biannually in June and December.

The journal publishes original research articles in Turkish or English, focusing on engineering sciences and design. Articles in the original research category are expected to possess qualities such as introducing new knowledge, proposing innovative methods, or providing a novel perspective on existing information.

ACUJES also accepts submissions in the form of case studies, surveys, and reviews. Priority is given to original research articles written in English.

Submitted articles undergo evaluation by national and/or international referees, and the final decision rests with the editors. The review process employs a blind peer review system, where the names of referees are not disclosed to the authors. The option for double-blind peer review (referees evaluating articles without knowing the author's identity) is left to the author's discretion. Authors opting for this approach should upload their articles with their names and addresses removed.

Referees are expected to complete their evaluations within 30 days. In cases where this timeframe is exceeded, the editors may appoint new referees to ensure timely assessments.

The editorial decision to accept or reject an article is based on referee recommendations. Articles deemed insufficient may receive major (requires resubmission for evaluation) or minor (requires revision) revision decisions. Articles that fail to meet the required standards and scientific rigor are rejected.

Authors are given 40 days for "resubmission for evaluation" and 20 days for "revision required" to make the necessary changes following the decision. Failure to meet these deadlines may result in article rejection.

Articles submitted for publication must be original, not previously published, or under consideration by any other journal. Authors bear full responsibility for their articles, ensuring compliance with international scientific ethical standards. Ethical Committee Reports may be attached when necessary.

All submitted articles undergo plagiarism checks using the iThenticate: Plagiarism Detection Software before editor approval. Articles exceeding a 20% similarity threshold (excluding references) are subject to correction upon editor review. Failure to make the necessary corrections within 20 days may lead to article rejection. Articles with exceptionally high similarity rates are rejected without further evaluation.

Accepted articles for publication transfer copyright to the journal.

Articles should adhere to the journal's writing format.

Authors are requested to declare any conflicts of interest during the application stage. Even if no conflict is declared, a note stating the absence of a conflict of interest is added during typesetting.

There is no evaluation or application fee for articles submitted to ACUJES.

For accepted articles, authors are given 30 days for "page editing" and 10 days for "proofreading." Failure to meet these deadlines may result in article rejection.
