The Journal of Defence and Security Research aims to develop academic perspectives in defence and security studies and related fields. Its interest spans, but is not confined to, contributing to the international security and terrorism, intelligence studies, maritime law and security, military education, military history, defence management literature through engaging theoretically and/or empirically grounded original works.

The Journal of Defence and Security Research is open to all methodological approaches and welcomes submissions that add new theoretical and empirical insights into scholarly debates in the field. It also publishes book reviews.
