EFFECT OF DIFFERENT SOWING TIME ON ESSENTIAL OILS COMPONENTS OF CORIANDER (CORIANDRUM SATIVUM L.)

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of sowing time to essential oils components of the coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.). The study was carried out at the experiment area of Field Crops department, Agriculture Faculty, Harran University during 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 growing seasons. Field trail was arranged in randomized block design with three replications. In this study, total 14 sowing times, from beginning October hence between approximately 15 days, were tested. The essential oils extracted from coriander at fourteen different sowing timed plants were analysed by GC-FID. The important 7 components (α-Pinene, p-Cymene, γ-Tterpinene, Linalool, Camphor, Geraniol and Geranyl acetate) were detected in the samples representing 92.48-96.65 % of the total essential oils. The Linalool rates were found to be between 76.12-82.74 % and the Linalool was the main component at the all sowing times. It was determined that the essential oil components were significantly changed depending on the sowing time and the highest Linalool rate was obtained from middle October sowing.

FARKLI EKİM ZAMANLARININ KİŞNİŞ (Coriandrum sativum L.) UÇUCU YAĞ BİLEŞENLERİNE ETKİSİ

Abstract

Farklı ekim zamanlarının kişniş (Coriandrum sativum L.) uçucu yağ bileşenlerine etkisini saptamak amacıyla yapılan bu çalışma; 2001-2002 ve 2002-2003 yetiştirme sezonunda, HR.Ü.
Ziraat Fakültesi araştırma alanında, üç tekrarlamalı olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, Ekim ayı başından itibaren yaklaşık 15 gün arayla toplam 14 değişik ekim zamanı ele alınmıştır. Ekim zamanlarına göre farklı gelişim gösteren bitkilerden sağlanan meyvelerden, su buharı distilasyonuyla elde edilen uçucu yağların, GC-FID kullanılarak, bileşenlerinin oransal dağılımı
saptanmıştır. Kişniş uçucu yağında bulunan miktarca önemli 7 bileşenin (α-Pinene, p-Cymene, γ- Terpinene, Linalool, Camphor, Geraniol ve Geranyl acetate) ekim zamanlarına göre oransal
dağılımları belirlenmiştir. Bu bileşenler uçucu yağın % 92.48-96.65’ini oluşturmuştur.Tüm ekim zamanlarında ana bileşen olarak belirlenen Linalool oranı % 76.12-82.74 arasında değişim göstermiştir. Tüm bileşenler ekim zamanlarına bağlı olarak önemli düzeyde değişim göstermiştir. En yüksek Linalool oranı Ekim ayı ortasında yapılan ekimlerden elde edilmiştir.
